Jibble's Metal Monstrosity is a Tinker Gnome's vision of a heavy combat armor. It is a large mass of metal, combined with many moving parts, flickering lights, jets of steam, and even a large steam powered whistle. The device can be based on any masterwork medium or heavy armor that is primarily constructed of metal. It has triple the "template" armor's weight, but due to the magical power that keeps it moving, it retains all of the other statistics of that armor. The armor is masterwork and can be further enchanted as normal. The magic that makes it a Jibble's Metal Monstrosity does not affect enchantment possibilities or cost. Neither does it resize to fit the wearer (without further enchanting).
Besides its aesthetical appeal to many Gnomes, the device has several extras. First of all, the device is equipped with a large steam powered whistle. This apparatus can be used once every five rounds and it emits a high pitched sound that can be heard up to a mile away. The sound is painful to the ears of anyone within 30 feet, but it does not deafen them. The second function of the device is a protection against drowning, by means of the Emergency Buoyancy System (EBS). Using this switch will cause a series of large bladders to emerge from the armor. These bladders will instantly inflate into a sphere, 15 ft. in diameter, surrounding the wearer. The wearer is knocked prone and is unable to move. He or she can deflate the bladders with another switch. Deflation takes one full round.
In good Gnomish fashion, there is a small chance that the device will malfunction. Each time the wearer is struck by a physical attack and takes damage, there is a 5% chance of malfunction. On malfunction, roll a d6: 1-2 whistle is activated, 3-4 EBS is activated, 5-6 several moving parts start to spin weirdly and extremely fast, but nothing serious happens.
